Privacy

Data controller: Patricia Álvarez Herrero, with registered address at C/ Nuestra Señora del Val 5, 28816 Camarma de Esteruelas (Madrid), Spain.

Purpose: to process your order, payment and delivery, and to answer any enquiries you send us.

Legal basis: the performance of the sales contract and, where applicable, your consent.

Recipients: the courier responsible for delivery, the bank that processes the payment and, only if you give your consent in the cookie banner, Google (analytics) and Meta (advertising), as explained below. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

Retention: for as long as the commercial relationship lasts and, afterwards, for the periods required by tax and commercial law.

Rights: you may access, rectify and erase your data, as well as object to or restrict its processing and request its portability, by writing to hello@theoccasion.es. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

Reviews of our pieces

If you leave us a review, we keep the name you sign it with, your rating, your text, any photos you attach and, if you come from your order, which order it is. We only publish the review and those photos, under that name, if you give us permission when you send it, and we always check them first; your email is never published. You can ask us to correct or remove it at any time by writing to hello@theoccasion.es.

Emails we send you

Besides the emails about your order, we write to welcome you and send your discount code if you sign up to our newsletter (with your consent), to remind you of pieces you left in your basket without completing your purchase, and occasionally to customers who have bought from us to tell them about new pieces similar to what they bought (on the basis of our legitimate interest, as allowed by article 21.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services). All these emails include a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by writing to hello@theoccasion.es.

Analytics and advertising

Only if you accept it in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand how the website is used and which campaigns lead to purchases, and the Meta pixel and Conversions API (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., owner of Facebook and Instagram) to measure our ads and show them to people who may be interested. When you buy with that consent given, we send Meta the amount and items of the purchase, your email and phone number encrypted in an irreversible way (SHA-256), and technical data about your browser and connection. Google and Meta may process this data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can withdraw your consent at any time from the cookie settings; this does not affect processing carried out before.

Cookies

This shop uses the browser's local storage to remember your bag between visits and what you chose in the cookie notice. It is essential for purchases to work and does not require consent.

In addition, only if you accept them in the notice shown on arrival, we use two kinds of third-party cookies, which you can accept or decline separately under “Settings”:

  • Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*), from Google Ireland Limited, to count visits and see which pages are viewed. They expire after two years.
  • Advertising: the Meta pixel (_fbp and _fbc cookies), from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show you pieces you may like. They expire after three months. If you accept them and buy, we also send Meta the details of that purchase (amount, pieces and your encrypted email and phone) to know which ad brought it.

Until you accept, none of them is installed. You can decline them without the shop ceasing to work.

You can change your mind by clearing local storage and cookies from your browser settings; you will be asked again the next time you visit. Note that you will lose the contents of your bag.
